Gerry Clay owns a new shop that starts up near Cloudstreet. He later embarks on an affair with Dolly Pickles, who initially doesn't realize that he is the G.M. Clay who owns the competing her own. After Clay is driven out of business by Oriel Lamb, he beats up Dolly and leaves town.
