Who is Jericho Jones in Home to Harlem and what is their importance?

Jericho Jones (Jerco) is a pimp. He is in love with Miss Rosalind but completely ignorant as to how to show the way he feels.... he can't move beyond his occupation. When Miss Rosalind passes away, Jerco cannot cope and takes his own life.
