Where does Charlie go once he finds a dollar bill in the snow?

Once Charlie finds a precious dollar bill in the snow and sees no one around to whom the dollar may belong, he goes "ten paces away" (42) to the nearest shop and buys a Wonka bar. He promises himself that he will buy one bar, that he will eat it all on the spot, and that he will bring the rest of the dollar directly home to his mother.
