On the morning of February 1st, a crowd has gathered outside of Mr. Wonka's factory in order to watch the five children and their chaperones be admitted to the factory gates. The crowds are said to be raucous and policemen have to hold the crowd back from the factory gates. Right beside the gates, the five finders of the golden tickets and their chaperones stand waiting for the clock to strike ten o'clock. The crowd is shouting things about the child winners whom they recognize from the newspapers and the four children other than Charlie are having to be held back by their parents from rushing the gates.
