What does Catherine think of the abbey and the monk's lifestyle when she visits her brother?

When Catherine visits the abbey where her brother Edward lives with her mother, she falls in love with the monks' lifestyle. While there, Catherine and her mother are presented with a book of Saint's Days. Catherine decides that she wants to run away to the abbey, but Edward tells her that she would not be accepted at the abbey because she is not a man.
