Who is Primrose 'Prim' Everdeen from Catching Fire and what is their importance?

Prim is Katniss's sister. It was when Prim's name was chosen as tribute the year before that Katniss volunteered to go in her place. Prim continues to be Katniss' inspiration. In fact, Katniss is determined to see Prim survive and live a full life. This is threatened when Katniss hears Prim's tortured voice being called out by a jabberjay. Later Katniss learns hat Prim has survived, however, thanks to her beloved Gale.
