What evidence can you offer to illustrate Ricks cynicism in the movie?

Rick is rather a noir anti-hero type of character. He is a man of the world who has seen so much crime and shady dealings. He runs his Cafe with this knowledge and does his best to keep out corruption or, at the very least, control what goes on in his bar.
