What does Major Despard say in response to Battle's questions about Shaitana and the other guests?

Despard is truthful that he rather disliked Mr. Shaitana; however, he denies having reason to kill him. Despard adds nothing new to the movements of the players, yet his opinion of the players' abilities differs in that he, alone, believes Miss Meredith to be somewhat of a good player.
