What arrives in the channel to cause a great deal of excitement on Sargent's Point? What do they want?

The ship, Fortunate Star, arrives at Sargent's Point. They are on their way to Boston, but have lost a crewman and need someone to take his place. Ira Sargent volunteers in hopes of making enough money to replenish their low stores and to save some money to build a home for his future with Abby Welles.
