What does Eddie’s aunt bring him daily in Chapter 1? Why?

Aunt Dolores brings Eddie tortillas every day as a way of bribing him to see things her way. Eddie has no interest in finding the killer of Delores’s son because he believes the guy will die soon enough without someone specifically seeking him out of revenge.
