What is the author's style in Bumped by Megan McCafferty?

The story is written from the alternating perspectives of Melody Mayflower and Harmony Smith, who are twins separated at birth. The story is presented in first person with a perspective limited to that of the twin who has the control in that chapter. This limitation is somewhat confusing in that the twins don't always reveal everything there is to know about themselves.
