What event happens to force Anders to examine the domed ceiling of the bank?

The man with the pistol gets angry at Anders for looking at his eyes, so he pushes the barrel of his pistol against the underside of Anders's chin. In this way, he turns Anders's gaze upward until Anders is forced to look at the ceiling.
