Who is Miss Thomas in Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis?

Miss Thomas is the vocalist in the Dusky Devastator's band. She is a mother figure to Bud, helping and comforting him along the way. Her presence is a buffer between Bud and Mr. Calloway, who tends to be short-tempered and impatient with Bud.
