How does the narrator describe the boys in Brown Boys?

The narrator first describes the side of the park that runs along Flatbush Avenue. This part is littered with trash and the grass is patchy. As the brown girls and brown boy walk through the park to the other side, the grass grows thick with rows of flowers, white women out jogging, and there is no trash on the ground.
