Who are the only people to care that the man is dead? Why do they care?

Scrooge sees the only people who have emotion about the man's death are people who are happy about it: “If there is any person in the town, who feels emotion caused by this man's death,” said Scrooge quite agonised, “show that person to me, Spirit, I beseech you.” Business men are happy about the free lunch at his funeral, Scrooge's servants are happy to take his things.
