Why is it ironic that Bridget's mum is enthusiastically hosting a television show titled "Suddenly Single"?

So far, Bridget's mum has spent much of her time with Bridget either pushing her toward Mark Darcy or criticizing Bridget's single life. It is ironic that mum is now hosting a show called "Suddenly Single" because thus far in the book she has had no respect for the single life, nor is she technically "single".
