Bridget's character has grown over the past year. She now worries more about her career than about men. While she still has issues with her weight, she no longer sees her weight as the reason that her relationships fail. She finally shows interest in an emotionally available man. She also helps her father through a crisis. Also, after not hearing from Mark, Bridget worries that he might have been turned off by her mum's behavior and her bad dinner. It never crosses her mind that he was turned off by her weight.
