Explain Julio's crime.

Julio turns out to be a criminal. He convinces the Jones' and their friends to invest all of their savings into a time-share. There is no time-share and the families find out that Julio has run to Portugal with their money. It is unclear if Bridget's mum was a knowing accomplice.
