Bridget Jones's Diary

Bridget Jones

At the Darcys' ruby anniversary party, Bridget tries to talk to Mark, but he is busy trying to arrange dinner seating. Does Mark intentionally seat Bridget between the gay vicar and Geoffrey Alconbury instead of by his "dishy friends" as Bridget hopes?

Mark intentionally seats Bridget between the gay vicar and Geoffrey Alconbury at the ruby anniversary party. Perhaps he knows the two gentlemen will not make her feel uncomfortable, or he could be counting on Bridget to make the men feel comfortable. Also, considering Mark's attention later in the evening, he might not want to sit her next to men she might be interested in, as she is hoping he will do.
