How does the author use foreshadowing in Bridge to Terabithia?

One instance of foreshadowing occurs when Leslie displays a lack of faith in religion and the Bible. Who would have guessed that May Belle's reaction... "But Leslie, what if you die? What if you die?", would foreshadow Leslie's death.
