As a painter, Sally spent years in New York trying to make a living with her art. This is exactly like Nora’s dream of making it in New York. However, while Nora holds onto her love for the city, Sally becomes disillusioned by the little success she finds and returns to Sunshine Falls for a more comfortable and safe life. This shows Nora what kind of life she will have in Sunshine Falls: happy and safe, but more unfulfilling than she wants.
