Who is Sterling Harper from Body of Evidence?

Sterling Harper is Cary's sister. She lives with her brother and has never been married. Sterling suffers from cancer and regularly travels to John Hopkins for treatment. She and Beryl Madison were good friends, and her trips to the medical facility afford the her the opportunity to visit Beryl while she is in town.
