Native people, who had been wondering, settled into this fertile valley of food, animals and plants. Forty years with no rain passed depleting the crops and animals. The people turned to the river and ate the carp to survive. This angered the gods who turned the people into carps to live forever in the waters. However, there was one kind god who loved the people. He was sad and didn't want the people of the parched land to live within the dangers of the river. He went to the other gods and told them that he himself chose to be turned into a carp so he could take care of his people. The gods agreed and turned him into a big and golden carp. The golden carp was still there in the river to this day.
