Why do you think Judy Smallweed is so cruel to her maid?

It seems that Judy and Bart's grandfather has been verbally abusive to them, perhaps, all of their lives. He denigrates them, especially Bart, and is mean to his wife as demonstrated by his throwing cushions at her. Judy is simply a victim of this cruel behavior and takes it out on the maid.
