Who is Mr. Vholes in this story? What is his role in Richard's life?

Mr. Vohles is an attorney whom Richard has hired to look after his interests in Jarndyce v. Jarndyce. However, Vholes knows almost nothing about the suit and is fixed on taking as much money as he can from Richard may have in the suit. Vholes was introduced to Richad by Mr. Skimpole who lost a small lawsuit at the hand of Vholes. Vholes has family to support and other obligations, and Richard is prey for him.
