Is Mr. Guppy appropriately named? Why, or why not?

Mr. Guppy is paranoid and suspicious of people. He uses roundabout ways to try to get what he wants. Naming him "Guppy" is Dickens' way of telling us that he will always be a small fish in the big pond because of his "small" and petty behavior.
