Throughout the entirety of the Black Panther series through Book 3 the author deftly creates a feminist narrative that coincides with the main plot of the story. This is of particular note because the comic book medium has historically been criticized for under-representation of female characters and feminist themes. Creating a feminist thread in this book is also particularly noteworthy because the author subverts expectations by including feminist messages in a title that is named for a male character. The author creates this feminist narrative through The Midnight Angels mission as well as Shuri's journey from The Djalia to leader of Wakanda.
