How does the city of Montgomery change for Griffin as he becomes more and more white?

Griffin as a black man was treated poorly in Montgomery, but as a white man he can enjoy it as a beautiful city, including nice hotels and restaurants. As a white man, he is looked at like the enemy in black neighborhoods.
