Who is Mrs. Moss in Black Boy by Richard Wright?

Richard lives in Mrs. Moss' boarding house during the time he is in Memphis. She becomes a big fan of Richards, and even goes so far as to hope he'll marry her daughter. At first, Mrs. Moss confuses Richard and he believes she has ulterior motives, but over time, he comes to see her as the epitome of goodness.
