Who is Thomas Seymour in Beware, Princess Elizabeth by Carolyn Meyer?

Thomas Seymour was the uncle of Henry VIII's son Edward, who became the King of England upon his death. Thomas was extremely cole to his nephew, who according bestowed many titles upon his uncle. Unfortunately, when his wife dies, Thomas comes up with a plot to kidnap and marry Edward's sister Elizabeth. Thomas is arrested and executed for his actions.
