Hughes' biography of Bhutto has a number of biases. First, Benazir Bhutto's family was not universally beloved by the Pakistani people. Hughes often makes it sound as if Bhutto's only opposition was sexist Muslim Mullahs and the military led by dictator General Zia. Consequently, Bhutto comes off like a perfect saint. Her faults are almost never mentioned, save that she was not an incredibly bright student but more focused on having a good time when she was young and that many accusations were made against her when she was Prime Minister.
