How does Christine feel about her situation and her husband when she is left alone in Part 1: Today?

Alone in the house some hours later Christine sits and tries to reconcile herself to her situation. Christine feels great compassion for the man who claims to be her husband because of all he must have to go through each day in order to care for her.
