Some parts of the book are written in the third person while others are written in the first person point-of-view. As a graphic novel, it allows the reader the benefit of seeing exactly what is happening as well as knowing what is happening. The voice changes, though it does so in a very clear manner. For instance, when Batman is talking, it is displayed in a grey dialogue box. For Robin it is a yellow dialogue box. For Superman, it is a blue dialogue box. For the Joker it is a green dialogue box. In most cases, the message comes across very clearly; however, the action tends to move very quickly and so the point-of-view shifts quickly. Without the use of the graphics, it would be difficult to know exactly what each character is thinking and feeling.

The graphic novel is a different way to relay a storyin comparison to other narratives using text only. The pictures create a vivid image in the minds of the readers. This is especially the case since there is so much action and violence occurring. Another helpful aspect of the different use of voices and points-of-view is that the reader gets a bigger picture of what is going on at all times. The story tends to jump around a lot and might cause too much confusion if left only as text.
