How would Nippers and Turkey be doubles?

Nippers and Turkey are doubles because they offset each other throughout the story. In essence, they switch positions.... when Turkey is a his best, Nippers would be considered useless.... when Nippers is most productive, Turkey is unproductive. Each of the characters' internal clocks work in opposition according to their temperaments and behaviors.
