Who is Sofia from Bad Girls of the Bible and what is their importance?

Sofia is the fictional character representing Sapphira. Sofia badly wants to be a part of the old money society, so she convinces her husband to donate one million dollars so she can join an exclusive awards dinner and gain recognition. Before the dinner, the couple loses a huge amount of money and has to sell their vacation home in order to attend the dinner. They agree to give the full purchase price of the home to the charity, but when they receive more than one million, they decide to keep the difference. However, someone at the charity knows that they received more and confronts them.
