Who is Michal from Bad Girls of the Bible and what is their importance?

Michal is King Saul's daughter and she loves David. David wants to marry Michal, although it seems like more of a political union than one of feeling. Saul tries to use the relationship to kill David at several different points, although his attempts are unsuccessful. When Saul becomes more explicit in his threat, Michal urges David to hide. She covers up David's absence to give him more time to get away. In the next few years, David marries several other women and Saul gives Michal in marriage to another man, even though she is already married to David.
