How does Evelyn meet Devin?

Evelyn decides that she needs some air and she walks outside. She finds herself by a man in a black tuxedo. Evelyn finds the man attractive, although he looks nothing like Adam. The man's name is Devin and he asks if Evelyn is allowed to sit under all of the trees in the garden. She tells me that she is, but that her father has asked her to stay away from the gazebo.
