To where does the Skill road take the group in Chapter 33 and what do they find there?

The band follows the Skill road to a huge stone quarry. Once there, they find the body of Carrod. Nighteyes and Fitz realize there is something else in the quarry, further back. They all approach warily, past stunningly beautiful but disturbing statues, to find Verity.
