Why is Manto so casual about buying another human slave?

Human slave trading is common in Antioch. Manto is wealthy and has many slaves. She is very used to slavery, and doesn't think twice about buying another slave. Elisha has moral objections to slavery and is disgusted by it. Manto merely views the slave trade as just a part of life.
