What is the nature of Root's character?

Root is an older commander. He has fought in many missions and therefore is a good commander. However, he has a temper which is often set off by what he deems a lack of respect from his men. He wants his staff to call him Commander Root not any of the various nicknames that they have for him. Root stands for what he believes in though
