Angeline is bedridden due to nervous tension since her husband's disappearance the year before. Artemis worries for her as she has not even seen the light of day. However, he also realizes that if she were to get better, his life would return to "normal": school and homework. Her illness allows him the freedom to go where he pleases and do what he wants.
