Describe symbolism in Araby by James Joyce

There are religious undertones to this story. The boy's quest is for the Holy Grail but not in the Catholic Biblical sense. He wants the love and sexual attraction of the girl in the market. His gift to her becomes a holy offering that is filled with the promise of sexual love.
