Who is Red Adept from Blue Adept and what is their importance?

The female Red Adept learns from the Oracle that Blue will destroy Red, so she kills her alternate in Proton in order to laser Stile's knees. She also kills the first Blue Adept with a strangling amulet. She kills Hulk and Bluette in a trap set for Stile. Unknown for the first half of the novel, the Red Adept is revealed to be Stile's anonymous enemy who he has sworn to destroy after Hulk's murder. The Red Adept and Stile battle in both Phaze and Proton until they are matched in Round 12 of the Tourney in Proton. She loses the narrative dance competition by attacking Stile violently because she cannot tolerate the humiliation of his feigned love.
