Animal Farm

Education becomes an important tool on Animal Farm. The pigs, who easily learn, are able to control and abuse the rights of the other animals on the farm. The other animals, who aren't as quick to pick things up are complacent and unquestioning of the pigs, who they see as their leaders. Thus, education is a tool of power, and ignorance becomes a tool for oppression.
