What happens to Prior in Act 2, Scene 1?

In Act 2, Scene 1, Prior's health takes a sudden turn for the worse, leaving him exhausted and sick on the floor of his apartment. He defecates blood and passes out; so Louis, against Prior's wishes, calls an ambulance.
