Who is Joumana, and how does Joumana encourage Aaliya in the novel, An Unnecessary Woman?

Joumana is the woman who lives in the apartment above Aaliya’s. She is a university professor, who encourages Aaliya to submit her translations for publishing. It is also Joumana who coordinates the three witches in helping Aaliya to begin drying out her translations.
