In Part One, Chapter Four, why is Felix upset with Gabriel?

In Part One, Chapter Four, Felix is upset with Gabriel because Gabriel changes his mind about Felix being the best man in his wedding. Felix is suppose to be the best man, however Gabriel changes the role to another person and demotes Felix to an usher.
