Who is Lucas Choy in Among the Volcanoes by Omar S. Castaneda?

Lucas Choy is Isabel's fiance. He's young, handsome, athletic, hard working, and traditional in his beliefs. Over the course of the novel, Lucas is loving, jealous, unsure, and sometimes suspicious in regard to Isabel. In the end, he conquers his personal feeling and looks toward their future, supporting Isabel's dreams of becoming a teacher.
