What is the rising action in the novel, Ambush?

The rising action begins when Sarge and Sydney team up to track down the Alpha. The action takes a sharp rise when Sydney gets a text telling her that the Alpha has kidnapped Cohen. The action continues to rise when she is attacked and almost killed by Fadden when Sydney enters a building owned by the Alpha because she believes that Cohen is there. The reader, and Sydney, get another shock when they learn that it is Dougie who is being held captive there are not Cohen.
