Who is the major characters from the book always running

The book, Always Running, has several major characters. First, there is Luis, also known as Grillo or Cricket. Luis also becomes known as Chin because he has a chin that was broken in a fight and it is very prominent now. He has a chance at getting out of the gang and making something of himself and he wants that for himself.

Maria Estela is Luis's mother. She is a very strong disciplinarian and has a very large influence over him. She detests all of the drugs and violence that seem to surround her family and she is determined to keep them all out of it.

Alfonso is Luis's father who quite philosophical about the life that they have to lead. He listens to his son and tries to reason with him.

Jose Rene is Luis's oldest brother. He changes his name to Joe and is the polar opposite to Luis. He does well in school and is good at sports.
